Crossing Borders 2020

Crossing Borders is a collaborative exchange project between Spring Common Academy, UK and Sint-Jozef-Klein-Seminarie, Belgium.  In previous years there has been a visit to SCA from a select group of Belgian sixth form students in the Autumn term, and a return visit to Belgium by a group of SCA Post-16 pupils in the Spring term.

With travel and safety restrictions in place due to Covid-19, the 2020-21 programme looks very different, but is still very much encouraging the link and communication between both sets of students and supporting their learning.

The focus in the Autumn Term has been a virtual job application process, to enable the 16 SJKS students to get to know Spring Common Academy and to give them the opportunity to learn job application, CV and interview skills required in preparation for adulthood.

The Spring Term activity will be focused on the SJKS students designing and producing an educational game for SCA students.  Research will be conducted via video calls with our Post-16 classes to understand specific physical, sensory and communication needs!
