Celebrating Chinese New Year 2020

During the week beginning 20th January, pupils learned about the Chinese New Year and how it was celebrated. Pupils worked to make different craft activities and present their work using different formats. Some pupils in the upper school used their computing lessons to make power point presentations about what they had learned about the Chinese New year.

On Friday 24th, pupils enjoyed participating in a Chinese Dance workshop. They used props for their dancing and learned about the importance of the dragon.

At the end of the day, some of the pupils showcased their dancing with fans in our whole school assembly. Pupils enjoyed experiencing how Chinese celebrate the New Year and that 2020 is the year of the Rat.
