HOME LEARNING- week commencing 20th July

 

It has been a while since we have had any form of sporting competition and we thought it might be a nice way to end the term.  We'd love for you to join in the 'Virtual Sports Day' from home.  The activities can be carried out at any time that fits in with your day, and it has been designed so you only need minimal equipment.

Good luck and have fun taking part, please send any results into school by email office@springcommon.cambs.sch.uk by the end of Tuesday 21st July to be entered into the competition.

 

Every day there is something amazing going on in the world to be celebrated. We have chosen some of these themes and created learning activities that can be completed at home.

Further information about these special days can be searched using google if a particular day is of interest for you.

 Numeracy

Monday - theme World Jump Day

Use a tape measure or ruler to measure how far different members of your family can complete the Standing Long Jump. (Please refer to Virtual Sports Day) above.

 

Tuesday - theme Lamington Day

In Australia and New Zealand, Lamingtons are often sold in cake sales to raise money for Charity.  Try and find a recipe and work out roughly how much does the ingredients of your Lamington Cake cost.

 

Wednesday - theme Picnic Month

How many items of food do you need for your family picnic?

 Literacy

Monday - theme World Jump Day

 Can you write your name, or sing a song whilst Jumping up and Down?

 

Tuesday - theme Lamington Day

In Australia and New Zealand, Lamingtons are often sold in cake sales to raise money for Charity. Can you make a poster to try and sell a Lamington Cake to a member of your family? Cake cost?

 

Wednesday - theme Picnic Month

Create a menu for a picnic you can have with your family.

 Science

Monday - theme World Jump Day

Research ‘World Jump Day’ If the scientific theory was possible, would you be happy with the effects?

 

Tuesday - theme Lamington Day

Time how long the Lamington takes to bake. Keep watching the oven as you are baking and watch the reaction that takes place as the cake bakes. Cake to a member of your family? Cake cost?

 

Wednesday - theme Picnic Month

Can you identify parts of your picnic as Solid, Liquid and Gas?

Eg. Bread = Solid, Water = Liquid.

Monday - theme World Jump Day

Please refer to Virtual Sports Day activities and complete the Standing Long Jump.

 

Tuesday - theme Lamington Day

We often have cakes at parties. Can you party away and create your own dance to your favourite music?

 

Wednesday - theme Picnic Month

When you go for a picnic it is nice to play games. Can you think of any games you can play? Good ones are games like tag, musical statues etc.

 

 Other

Monday - theme World Jump Day

How many different songs can you find and dance to?

Eg, Van Halen, Kris Kross.

 

Tuesday - theme Lamington Day

Make your own Lamington Cake. Click here for a recipe.

 

Wednesday - theme Picnic Month

Can you take pictures of your picnic and create a family collage.

This term we are learning about ‘What is Spirituality?’
